On International Youth Day, Poroshenko and activists supported the democratic youth of Belarus, which one year ago rebelled against dictatorship

Activists of the NGO “Solidarity Youth” announced the launch of an international campaign “Youth for Youth”, which supports young politicians who uphold democratic values in their countries. This was announced by the head of the youth organization, Kyiv City Council deputy from the “European Solidarity” party, Dinara Gabibullayeva.

“For the first time, Ukraine is celebrating International Youth Day together with the whole Western world. That is why today we are launching the Youth for Youth campaign to support young politicians and public figures who are fighting for their right to a democratic and free future for themselves and future generations,” said Dinara Gabibullayeva.

“Last year will go down in history as the year when Belarus woke up. We didn’t understand ourselves before. We did not know that most of us were thirsty for change. In the struggle for fair elections, justice and for life, we were able to show ourselves, the government, and the world what we are capable of. We were able to say – no, we do not want to live like this anymore. We want change,” said Yevhen Karaulov, a young Belarusian blogger and activist.

The youth initiative was supported by the fifth President and leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko.

“Freedom for us is like air we breathe. We cannot live without freedom. And in order to protect our own freedom, we started the Orange Revolution, the Revolution of Dignity. Mykhailo Zhyznevsky was with us at the barricades of the Revolution of Dignity. And he remains forever with us in the Heavenly Hundred and in our hearts. Thank you, Mykhailo,” Petro Poroshenko said.

“And when such a force unites to defend freedom, no one will be able to stop us. Yanukovych has failed, neither Putin nor Lukashenko will succeed. It is very important that the driving force behind change and the protection of our freedoms, is the youth. Why? Because they are the future. And Belarus can definitely count on the support of Ukraine. We are not silent, like the current authorities, but resolute and determined, ”Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
