Petro Poroshenko took part in a service led by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in St. Andrew’s Church

The fifth President and leader of the European Solidarity Party, Petro Poroshenko, took part in a service at the Church of St. Andrew the First, led by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

“The soul rejoices when meeting with our dear guest – the exarch of our national Church, from whom the light of Christ’s faith came to the Ukrainian lands,” Petro Poroshenko shared his impressions.

“Patriarch Bartholomew gave the Ukrainian people a great blessing – the Tomos on autocephaly, and with it the opportunity to pray in our native language in an independent Orthodox Church of Ukraine,” the fifth President reminded.

“I am convinced that the visit of Patriarch Bartholomew to celebrate Independence Day will contribute to the spiritual revival of Ukraine and the unification of Ukrainian Orthodox believers,” Petro Poroshenko stressed.
