It was a day that changed the world. On this day, we remember the 20th anniversary of the attacks, which reminds us of the pain from such a terrible tragedy. It was a day that made us all stronger at the same time, which united the world in the fight against the evils of terrorism.
September 11, 2001, will forever go down in human history as a dark day, a day of remembrance for the victims of a series of terrorist attacks in the United States. And although this unspeakable tragedy happened far from our homes, its echo was felt by all Washington’s allies and friends, by all those who seek peace, stability and security. By those who fight together for prosperity, for the values of the rule of law, and for democracy.
Today, together with our American friends, the memory of those innocently killed in the terrible tragedy of 9/11 is honoured in Ukraine as well. The struggle that the United States is waging today is a joint struggle. In all its manifestations and under any sponsorship, terrorism has no place in our world and in our societies.
Ukraine does not suffer terrorist threats from the shadows, but rather lives with the threat of state terrorism. That is why we believe that the only way to counter this scourge is though international unity and solidarity. We honour those who died and wish them peace.
