The fifth President and leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko, thanked the European Commission for providing macro-financial assistance to Ukraine.
“I personally thank the European Commission and the Executive Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis for the positive decision to provide Ukraine with the second tranche of EU macro-financial assistance in the amount of 600 million euros. This united Europe reaffirms our state’s continued support for reforms and European integration, and stands side by side with Ukraine in counteracting the current challenges of peace, security and stability, “Poroshenko wrote on Facebook .
“It is the duty of the authorities to respond reciprocally to Ukrainian society and our European partners, not to take such gestures for granted, to implement rather than negotiate the Association Agreement, to ensure, not to curtail Euro-oriented transformations. European Solidarity, as a state-run pro-European opposition, will continue to support the government’s actions towards integration into the European Union,” the party leader said.
“This, as well as the importance of allocating a macro-financial tranche to Ukraine, was discussed with Valdis Dombrovskis at a meeting in August,” the fifth President reminded.
