Allegations of treason and terrorist financing committed by Volodymyr Zelensky and his entourage have been registered with the DBR, OGPU and SBU. This was announced by Iryna Gerashchenko, co-chair of the European Solidarity faction, following an urgent meeting at the Security Service of Ukraine.
“We have informed the SBU leadership in advance that, in accordance with the Law on the Status of the People’s Deputy, we want to make an appointment for an urgent parliamentary meeting – in order to submit a statement about this crime. Our colleagues passed the same statements to the DBR and the Office of the Prosecutor General last week to inform the state leadership, in particular Volodymyr Zelensky, about the commission of a crime in the energy sphere,” Gerashchenko told reporters.
“What is this statement about? In fact, today Ukraine is in an energy crisis, brought to this energy crisis by the current government. And we see that today Zelensky’s team has begun its tumultuous activity by returning to the purchase of electricity from Russia and Belarus. They also returned to the purchase of coal. Coal from the Russian Federation was stolen from Ukrainian mines in the occupied territories- expropriated by the occupation regime,” Gerashchenko said.
“Obviously, the $3 billion paid this year for the energy resources of Russia and Belarus is the financing of terrorism, the financing of the aggressor country,” Iryna Gerashchenko said.
Now the series “Matchmaker” is being aired on Russian channels, and this is also the financing of the aggressor country, receiving dividends from them for their royalties, for their companies. All this should become a very serious subject of consideration for the SBU. Last week, our team addressed the DBR and OGPU with the same statements,” Iryna Gerashchenko reminded.
The report on this criminal offense submitted to the SBU, in particular, states that during the tenure Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine lost its energy independence and began to buy coal from aggressor nations.
Representatives of the EU emphasize that during 2016-2019, the top leadership of the state together with the relevant ministries re-equipped Ukrainian thermal power plants with gas produced by Ukrainian coal mining companies in order to ensure the independence of the state in heat and electricity. As of the beginning of 2019, 55 out of 75 TPP units were converted to gas coal combustion, and only 18% of the electricity of all TPPs was generated by burning anthracite. In fact, the country’s dependence on Russian coal supplies and coal from the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts had been overcome, and this ensured Ukraine’s energy independence in the field of heat and electricity.
When Zelensky assumed the post of president, there were systemic changes in the supply of Ukrainian thermal power plants with Russian coal, as well as, coal from the temporarily occupied territories. These changes destroyed Ukraine’s energy independence in the field of heat and electricity, made the country extremely dependent on the aggressor Russian Federation, and now unfriendly Republic of Belarus.
The state enterprise PJSC Centerenergo switched to Russian coal due to the interests of Igor Kolomoisky. At least 1.5 million tons of coal of various types (including gas coal, which is available in Ukraine) were resold to the state-owned company Centerenergo by companies associated with oligarch Igor Kolomoisky. The origin of this coal is mainly Russian.
This was stated by the bihus.info portal in its investigation, in particular, in Alisa Yurchenko’s story “KOLOMOYSKY.RU” for the TV program “Our Money with Denis Bigus”.
During Zelensky’s presidency, about $ 4 billion was spent on coal from Russia and Belarus, as well as on the purchase of electricity from these countries, according to the statement on the crime.
It should be noted that part of the imported coal, labelled Russian, is coal that was mined and illegally exported from the occupied part of Luhansk and Donetsk regions for further delivery to Ukrainian thermal power plants.
This information contains enough facts to show the systematic actions of the country’s top leadership to restore dependence on coal supplies from the Russian Federation to Ukrainian thermal power plants that generate heat and electricity.
“These actions were committed by the top leadership of the state, starting with the President of Ukraine Zelensky. This could not have happened without him or without his participation and permission,” the deputies stated.
European Solidarity emphasizes that these actions contain evidence of criminal offenses under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Treason, ie an act intentionally committed by a citizen of Ukraine to the detriment of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, defense, information or state, economic security of Ukraine.” Regarding the purchase of coal from the occupied territories after the ban on such procurement by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (enacted by Presidential Decree of March 15, 2017 № 62/2017) “On urgent additional measures to combat hybrid threats to national security of Ukraine” – criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 258-5 “Terrorist Financing” apply.
Evidence was also registered under Part 3 of Article 255 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ie “the creation of a criminal organization, the management of such an organization or its structural parts committed by an official using his official position.”
