The pseudo-referendum in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine is an attempt to justify Putin’s madness. Petro Poroshenko said this in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
To the question, “What will happen after today’s referendums?”, Poroshenko answered: “I do not agree with you when you use the word “referendum”. There is no referendum. There is a fake, a show to try to legitimize Putin’s madness, the occupation scenario. What is happening today should be called by its name: a farce,” the fifth President emphasizes.
“No Ukrainian will go to vote, Ukrainians hate Putin for the crimes of the Russian invasion that they saw. If you want to know how people feel in the occupied territories, you should go starting with Bucha, Borodyanka and ending with the recently liberated Izyum. People are just waiting for punishment for this barbarism,” Poroshenko notes.
“What will Putin do with this farce? Nothing. It is as if tomorrow he declared that Sicily, Naples, Florence, or Alaska, or the Baltic states are Russia. This will not change anything and will not stop the Ukrainian troops,” Petro Poroshenko explains.
