The EuroNEST Assembly called for negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the European Union to begin this year. Volodymyr Aryev, a member of the Ukrainian delegation, People’s Deputy from the “European Solidarity” faction, reported this on Facebook.
“If the plan proposed by the co-chairman of the Assembly, the member of the European Parliament Andrius Kubilius, is implemented, if everything goes quickly and both countries do their homework clearly and without delay, then Ukraine and Moldova will be able to become EU members already in 2029

“At the same time, the Assembly separately noted that it is impossible to limit the parliament and parliamentarians and interfere in the work of independent and public mass media. This is, by the way, hello to Ukraine. So far, it is delicate, given the circumstances,” said the People’s Deputy.
He also announced that the resolution proposed by the Ukrainian delegation was adopted. The resolution:
- condemns aggression and illegal so-called “referendums” and demands the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine
- calls for sanctions to be extended to the entire energy sector and dual-purpose goods
- acknowledges corruption and money laundering by mechanisms of aid to pro-Russian forces and calls for the confiscation of Russian assets to compensate for the losses incurred
- calls for the creation of a tribunal on Russian war crimes within the framework of the UN and the termination of Russia’s membership in the UN in general, including the Security Council
- urges to continue to provide all necessary assistance to Ukraine for the restoration of territorial integrity
- calls to recognize the Russian media as propagandistic and those that undermine security in Europe. The Euro NEST Assembly includes the European Parliament and delegations of the parliaments of Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
