Petro Poroshenko said on the air of the Croatian TV channel N1 that Putin’s goal is the destabilization of the whole world and the destruction of democracy. He emphasized that Russia’s war against Ukraine and Hamas’ attacks on Israel have the same goal. That is why the civilized world should strengthen its support for Ukraine and give a joint rebuff to all manifestations of terrorism.
“Putin and Russia are directly involved in the Hamas attack. Putin and the terrorists have the same intention and i can confirm to you that Wagner’s fighters were among the instructors who trained the Hamas terrorists. Terrorists Hamas and Putin aimed to sow fear among everyone – among Ukrainians, among Europeans, among Israelis. An example can be the visit of Hamas terrorists to Moscow. And this is clear evidence that the terrorists of Russia, Iran, North Korea and Hamas are very closely cooperating because Putin’s goal is to destabilize the world, destabilize and destroy the world of freedom and democracy. The only way we can effectively stop Putin is simply to keep our unity, to support Ukraine, and that will surely lead us to victory. This is related in all spheres, starting from military facilities and arms supply, support for Ukraine’s military path, and Ukraine’s membership in the European Union and NATO. Of course, this is the way to peace,” Poroshenko is convinced.
He also reminded that Putin uses nuclear blackmail, energy blackmail, hunger and cold blackmail as weapons.
“We just had a drone attack on one of the Ukrainian nuclear power plants, one of the largest, the Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant. And this is a real threat. This is Putin’s energy and nuclear blackmail, because Putin wants to weaponize the nuclear factor, the energy factor, and the hunger factor. Therefore, we will win not only for the liberation of our land – we will win for Europe, for Croatia, and we greatly appreciate the support we feel from the European Union, NATO and Croatia,” Poroshenko said. He thanked Croatia for the assistance provided to the Armed Forces, in particular for the Mi-8 helicopters.
“Ukraine remains in the center of attention both in the Council of the European Union and in the United States Congress. And we don’t notice any decrease in attention,” said the fifth President.
“We understand and share the disaster during the Hamas attack in Israel. But is it possible to compare the border with the Gaza Strip of 40 kilometers – and the battlefield and the line of contact of the Ukrainian-Russian war up to 2000 kilometers? We are fighting against the second most powerful nuclear power in the world, and we are stopping them, we are providing a counter-offensive operation. Now Avdiivka is a hot spot, like many others, such as Bakhmut, Kupyansk, Vugledar, Robotyne, the Left Bank of the Dnipro, and the Kherson region. Russia is trying to divert our resources and stop our counteroffensive operation. These are very difficult and brutal battles. According to absolutely confirmed data, Russia loses up to 1,000 lives of Russian occupiers per day. We have considerable success in the Black Sea. We are destroying Russia’s ability to attack Ukrainian civilian targets with cruise missiles. And now Russia plans to withdraw a significant part of the Navy from Sevastopol to Abkhazia, which is located on the occupied territory of Georgia,” Poroshenko said.
“Military aid to Ukraine is very important, it should be considered not as aid for Ukraine, but as an investment in security. When you make investments in your security, in your stability, in peace in Europe, in a stable security situation, there will be no other way out but to support Ukraine. And, of course, it is necessary not only to support Ukraine, but also to do it in a timely manner. Because this is our joint war,” Petro Poroshenko sums up.
