Petro Poroshenko said in the final interview with Svitlana Orlovskaya on the TV channel “Pryamiy” that the issue of internal unity is a condition for the existence of the state. He also explained that a government of national unity is needed not for the distribution of positions, but for shared responsibility in difficult times.
“When we talked about the government of national unity, we didn’t talk about positions. I personally have nothing to do in the government. The president is a crisis of career growth. You have already been everywhere. But the principle position is that we have to share the responsibility. Our voice must be heard when we formulate the issue of mobilization, including the issue of economic development, the issue of defense capability, and bear responsibility for this by uniting in difficult times,” the fifth President noted.
“Today, this program should be renamed. From the government of national unity to the government of national salvation. Because look what we have heard today. It seems to me that when they began to understand that the warm bath has cooled, and that we will not have breakfast in 2023 on the Yalta embankment, as promised by some representatives of the authorities absolutely irresponsibly, and some managers who wear epaulettes. Today, the pendulum swings in the other direction. And from a warm bath, instead of starting a conversation between an adult and a respected nation, they put it under freezing rain. And some messages went out that we don’t have money for salaries, that we don’t have money for pensions, that we will delay budget payments. Why are you intimidating, you have 40 billion gold and currency reserves,” Poroshenko remarked.
“Instead, you should offer Ukraine a regime for introducing one or another program of the military economy, primarily in relation to the military industry. To date, law enforcement agencies cannot stop the production of weapons based on the short note of the audit service. This is a crime. The Prosecutor General’s Office cannot invade the military-industrial complex enterprise – it is a crime. If you want to do something, you will come, check, and prosecute, when the war will end” Poroshenko believes.
“And what should prevent such initiatives? Government of National Salvation. Restoring the work of the parliament”, Petro Poroshenko is convinced.
