Dmytro Lysenko, leader of “Solidarna molod” of Pokrovsk, public activist, and Ukrainian patriot, died in the Avdiivka district in a battle with the Russian occupiers.
“Another incredibly painful loss for our team and all of Ukraine. Our Dmytro Lysenko died in the battle in the Avdiivka direction. The leader of “Solidarna molod” of Pokrovsk and a well-known activist who was known throughout the city. I remember how he took part in our actions in the Donetsk region even before February 24… And after the full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the Defense Forces, fought, was wounded, but returned to service every time,” Petro Poroshenko wrote on social networks.

“Dmytro was a person with whom many associated the future of the Donetsk region, its reconstruction, and development. A person who is a symbol of a new generation of young residents of Donetsk region: patriotic, brave, intelligent, open to the world,” the party leader recalls.
“A real intellectual who thought a lot, looked for ways to solve problems, doubted, made difficult decisions. An ardent patriot and determined warrior who proved his faith in the holy ideas of building Ukrainian statehood with his blood, and ultimately with his life. He categorically did not tolerate injustice and fought with all his might for the truth, both in civilian life and at the front,” the fifth President noted.

“Dmytro loved the Donetsk region with all his heart. As he said, the land on which his ancestors lived and on which his children will live. The land for which he lived and for which he died in battle. The land that we must protect and rebuild in his memory,” Poroshenko is convinced.
“Now I’m in Pokrovsk. Brought an EW for the soldiers. And Dmytro is gone… Dmytro is survived by his wife and little daughter… My deepest condolences to the family. We are all very proud of Dmytro, a real hero. You can count on our support,” Poroshenko wrote.
The best, warmest memories of Dmytro Lysenko with the nickname “Fox” are also shared by like-minded people from the youth group – all-Ukrainian public organisation “Solidarna molod”. The leader of the organization, Dinara Gabibullayeva, writes: “You were so genuine and devoted to the state and your work. We will protect your mural in Pokrovsk. Sleep, Hero, calmly, we will take revenge for you … this pain will never subside.”
