The Ukrainian delegation to the OSCE, which includes the co-chairs of the “EU” faction Artur Gerasimov, Iryna Gerashchenko and People’s Deputy Serhii Alekseev, managed to pass a tough resolution against Russia at the beginning of the summer session of the OSCE PA. In it, Russia’s actions are recognized as genocide against the Ukrainian people, and the necessity of Russian colonization in order to establish a strong and lasting peace is also recognized.
During his speech, Artur Gerasimov reminded his foreign colleagues that Russia’s chain of crimes began long before the war in Ukraine, which Russia started 10 years ago. Before that, there was the occupation of Transnistria, the war in Chechnya, and the occupation of parts of Georgia, to which the free world did not give an adequate response and did not condemn the aggressor.
Therefore, in order to prevent future crimes by the Kremlin, the democratic world must now do everything possible so that Ukraine wins this war, and Russia no longer has the resources for new acts of aggression and terror.
“In committees, at sessions, on the sidelines, we had meetings with American congressmen, representatives of the national parliaments of EU countries, Canada, and other countries, we are talking about strengthening support for Ukraine, new air defense systems, sanctions against Russia. The position of parliamentarians has a significant impact on the decisions of governments, especially in this difficult election year,” the co-chair of the “EU” faction Iryna Gerashchenko said on her social networks about the work of the delegation.
The Ukrainian delegation continues to work on the sidelines of the assembly to convey to the 54 participating countries the whole truth about the situation at the front, military and humanitarian needs of Ukraine.
