Poroshenko bought 12 more excavators for the Armed Forces and urged the authorities to urgently build fortifications

Petro Poroshenko bought 12 new excavators for the Armed Forces. He called on the authorities to immediately build fortifications in critical areas of the front. Equipment equipment with EW means for the protection of military construction workers.

“The State Department and the White House said more than three years ago, ‘dig trenches, prepare fortifications.’ They didn’t start digging,” Poroshenko recalled.

“If you drive around the ring road of Kyiv or any regional center, you will see excavators offering services for the construction of cottages, roads, and utility networks. All this will not happen if this equipment does not work at the front now,” warns Petro Poroshenko.

He also noted that during the Ukrainian counteroffensive in 2022, the Russians strengthened their defenses — then the “Surovikin lines” were built. “They dug in, but we didn’t. We were just advancing. For 2.5 years, the state did not even purchase excavators. When in 2023 we offered to support the state and build defense lines, we were refused,” Poroshenko states.

“Meanwhile, our team continues to deliver excavators to the front. 12 new Ukrainian-made excavators equipped with EW. This is one of the most scarce positions. Shortly, we will apply them to the battalions and brigades that requested this equipment from us – artillerymen, paratroopers, marines, and ground forces,” Poroshenko said.

The cost of this batch of excavators is one million dollars. Previously, Poroshenko had already transferred more than 40 diggers to the army. “We have ordered 6 excavators per month and are continuing this order for 2025,” Poroshenko said.

“I once again call on the authorities: build fortifications on the administrative border of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions! Build in Kharkiv, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions! We have no right to lose people, we have no right to lose territory. There should be a second and third line of defense. And we have no right to waste time,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
