In an interview on Channel 5, Petro Poroshenko said that there are mechanisms to deprive the OPZH representatives of their mandates in parliament, but the majority is not interested in losing the votes of its political partners.
“The Verkhovna Rada already smells of elections. I apologized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in parliament for such behavior of the Verkhovna Rada. Because the union of the “rigs” – the pro-russian “fifth column” – and the mono majority is destroying the state. They are guided exclusively by one thing – ratings and preparations for the elections,” says Poroshenko.
“What are elections? The beginning of the election campaign means the death of unity. And unity is a key factor in our victory,” Petro Poroshenko is convinced.
“How can unity be realized now? Through the coalition of national unity in the parliament, where everyone should be invited, except for the “fifth column” of the Ukrainian People’s Party, with which the government is currently cooperating so fruitfully. The second step is to make a responsible decision to withdraw the mandates of the Kremlin’s “fifth column”. Because for me it is a shock when representatives of the Kremlin’s “fifth column” work in the Committee on National Security and Defense with completely secret documents. Or in the corresponding positions in the Law Enforcement Committee, in the Committee on Legal Policy, and others”, – states Petro Poroshenko.
“First – we need to adopt the law that we proposed. This changes the criteria for depriving deputies of their powers, including due to the decision of the Supreme Court to ban this political force on whose lists they were elected to the Verkhovna Rada. This law was written by me, registered. And the government deliberately does not put it to a vote for a year”, – explains Petro Poroshenko.
“And then adopt a resolution to deprive these 40 or so “rigs” of their mandates. And that’s it. And then, firstly, we remove the risk of the work of a subversive “fifth column”. And secondly, we create conditions for a coalition of national unity. The coalition of national unity must create a government of national salvation. What is this about? Finally, we must hand this work over to professionals. Not to amateurs, not to those who chase ratings, not to show scriptwriters. Ukraine is no longer able to withstand these tests,” warns Petro Poroshenko.
