During a speech in parliament, the people’s Deputy from the European Solidarity faction, Sofia Fedyna,, called on the authorities to stop putting pressure on volunteer and charitable organizations that help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“It will not be a secret to anyone that military units acquire a huge share of property, including expensive ones, thanks to volunteers. Very often, the volunteer share, which is essentially received from the people of Ukraine, is a much larger share of property provided to the military by the state. Tell me, what kind of idiot could ask volunteer organizations through letters on what grounds you help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. What kind of idiot could ask to volunteer to charitable organizations, and how do you choose which military you help? And how dare you increase volunteer assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the spring of 2023, when the counteroffensive began?” Fedyna was indignant.
“On Bankova Street, due to pressure from the NBU, they are now trying to stop the volunteer work of the NGO “Sprava Hromad” and the Poroshenko Foundation. They are the ones who are being asked why you are helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine. If we miss this blow, every subsequent volunteer organization may be threatened. Because today, for the third year of full-scale work, the volunteers are doing much of what the state should have been doing long ago. And for some reason, the state, headed by Volodymyr Zelensky, is not fulfilling its functions,” Fedyna stated.
