Poroshenko explained in the Council the value of the centennial agreement with the UK

During the discussion of ratifying the Centennial Partnership Agreement between Ukraine and the UK, Petro Poroshenko emphasized that it defines Ukraine’s membership in NATO as an absolute guarantee of security for our state. However, the opposition leader noted that Ukraine must implement appropriate reforms.

“European Solidarity” votes for this Agreement. I have just returned from the UK, had meetings in the government, in the parliament, and at Cambridge University, where I spoke at a conference. Britain is our reliable partner. But this Agreement is exclusively symbolic,” the fifth President stated.

“Why are we voting? Because the Agreement states the need for Ukraine’s membership in NATO as the only strategic position for ensuring security. Ukraine’s membership in NATO provides for internal reforms. This is the European Parliament Resolution. Metsola spoke about this. And the authorities must hear this,” Poroshenko emphasized.

“There is democracy, there is freedom, there are weapons, there is the defense industry, there is finance, there is the security and independence of Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.
