Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Member of Parliament from the “European Solidarity” faction and Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU, reminded the mono-majority of their obligations regarding the “Kachka-Kos Plan” during the discussion of Bill 12221. This bill concerns amendments to certain Ukrainian laws regarding the harmonization of the accreditation system for conformity assessment bodies and the technical regulation system with European Union requirements.
“European Solidarity will support this bill, which has been thoroughly refined for the second reading, including the incorporation of our proposals and comments. We understand that this bill is a necessary condition for an ‘industrial visa-free regime’ and for finally agreeing on conformity assessment and acceptance of Ukrainian industrial products,” the MP said.
“This is a story we began working on back with the previous convocation of parliament and the government in which I had the honor to serve. Therefore, I am convinced that this is a serious step forward, both for simplifying business operations and for ensuring that the quality of Ukrainian goods and their certification receive recognition in the European Union,” said Klympush-Tsintsadze.
“At the same time, I would like to draw the attention of the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the fact that, unfortunately, today’s agenda does not include a single bill from ‘European Solidarity.’ Furthermore, for some reason, even among the bills registered in parliament by the opposition to implement the ‘Kachka-Kos Plan’ – the ten points of priority reforms – we only see the bill submitted by representatives of the majority faction today. It is time to consider the bills submitted by opposition factions so that we can move forward with fulfilling our European integration obligations.
Otherwise, we won’t live to see the day the government submits them at all, as we hear that it’s not about prioritization from the government’s side. Still, about some vague, total implementation that certainly won’t lead to progress on our European integration track,” the Chair of the relevant committee stated.
