Poroshenko Discussed Key Global Challenges and Needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Members of the Atlantic Council

Petro Poroshenko met with members of the U.S. Atlantic Council who are currently visiting Kyiv. “This is a leading think tank on Ukraine, an informal support team for Ukraine in Washington. We discussed all the key challenges that are important today both for our state and Europe, and for the U.S. and the world as a whole,” Poroshenko wrote on social media.

“It is important to return Ukraine to the list of priorities of the global agenda. The world of tomorrow depends on how the war that Russia has unleashed against Ukraine is ended,” Poroshenko emphasizes.

“We talked a lot about the situation at the front and the needs of the Ukrainian army. About the negotiation process and achieving an unconditional and complete ceasefire,” the fifth President reported.

“There is no alternative to strengthening Ukrainian-American strategic relations, transatlantic solidarity, and mutual support. This must be coordinated together with a united Europe and Ukraine, both on the battlefield and at the negotiating table,” Poroshenko believes.

“We separately noted the importance of the unwavering democratic development of Ukraine and internal political unity. In particular, strengthening the rule of law, multi-party parliamentarism, the fight against corruption, and the preservation of the rights of the opposition,” writes the party leader.
